Vitamin C used to be big. Everyone was taking it because it boosted the immune system, built stronger tendons and ligaments and even strengthened the collagen in skin for fewer wrinkles. Somehow it seems to have gone out of style, and new research reveals that almost 50 percent of people have measures of C that are too low. If you’re not getting enough vitamin C from food—four ounces of orange juice contains almost an entire daily dose—be sure to take a C supplement.
