Ran into Paul Dillett recently. Despite having some hard times of late, he says he’s bouncing back and will make his comeback at the ’02 Night of Champions in May. Dillett, who won the NOC in 2000, had shoulder surgery right after the contest and sat out the 2000 Olympia due to his recuperation. He was taken out of the Olympia Expo in handcuffs in front of stunned fans after being arrested by local police officers. ‘That was about a car I sold to someone’conspiracy to money laundering charges,’ he says of the arrest. ‘[It’s] totally absurd, and I will clear my name.’ In the past two years Dillett has lost his Met-Rx contract, separated from his wife and forfeited two homes and four cars. He was also involved in an automobile accident in July that kept him from training until December. Despite all the setbacks, Dillett says he’s doing well and promises to K.O. the field at the NOC: ‘Tell them King Paul is back.’ When he’s not training clients at Gold’s Gym, Las Vegas, Tall Paul is working on his new Web site, www.pdfitnessdolls.com.
