There are some things that just don’t go together—cat fur and suntan lotion, Black Sabbath and sleeping children, bodybuilding and dessert. Well, I’m here to tell you that the last one is up for debate.
What if I told you that you could make something that tastes exactly like your favorite dessert using things that are already in your kitchen, with minimal effort and maximum nutritional benefits? Too good to be true? I can prove it. Due to my insanely strong sweet tooth, I became very creative with my protein powder. Rather than cut out sweets completely and drive myself insane to the point of eating Marie Callender’s out of business, I have come up with ways of not only coping with my sweet tooth but satisfying it with something that’s healthful as well. Cheesecake? Chocolate pudding? Cookie dough? Ice cream? Impossible? This following recipe will prove you wrong:
Protein Pudding
1 scoop protein powder (I used Pro-
Fusion Tahitian Vanilla)
1 teaspoon unsweetened baking cocoa
2 packets stevia or other zero-calorie
sweetener
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter (or
almond butter, if you prefer)
1/4 cup unsweetened chocolate
almond milk
Put the protein powder, baking cocoa, stevia and peanut butter in a small bowl. Add the almond milk and begin stirring.
Continue to stir until the ingredients become smooth and creamy. Since some protein powders are thicker than others, you may need to add more almond milk or water.
Put the bowl in the freezer, and let it set for about 20 minutes. Eat this glorious dessert with a spoon and try not to die of excitement when you realize it tastes exactly like the real deal!
