A handful of nuts is a healthy, muscle-building snack. You get protein, hormone-building fat and vitamins and minerals. Nuts can also pack a calorie punch, however.
According to an article by Amanda MacMmillan in the April 29, ’12 Huffington Post, your best choices, at about 160 calories per ounce, are almonds (23 nuts, six grams protein, 14 grams fat); cashews (16 to 18 nuts, five grams protein, 13 grams fat); and pistachios (49 nuts, six grams protein, 13 grams fat).
