You’ve heard it or you may have said it: “I can’t take a vacation; I’m too busy (or too broke).” That attitude may be setting you up for a heart attack, according to an article in the November ’10 Prevention: “People with a higher risk of heart disease who take a trip every year are 32 percent less likely to die from their condition.” Plus, scheduling a real vacation gives you something to look forward to, which can make you happier—and as we’ve reported before, experiences make you happier than things. So if you have a choice, take a trip instead of buying that 42-inch TV.
