Burrows Reaches the Top in Tijuana

The Tijuana Pro Bikini—the last show before the O in that sport—took place in Tijuana, Mexico, on September 10. A dozen daring young divas hit the stage, with top honors going to Abbie Burrows, who was the only gal in the lineup already qualified for the Olympia and, arguably, the favorite going into the event. It was a first pro win for Abbie and, I suspect, not the last.

In second was Mexico’s Cristiana Alicia Mendivil, who had earned her pro card the previous day at the amateur competition held in conjunction with the Tijuana Pro (wonder if that’s a record in terms of new-pro trips to the O), while third—and the final Bikini Olympia qualification of the ’11 season went to Kelly Gonzales, who, like Burrows is from the United States.

Christie Marquez took the fourth spot, and Tiffany Boydston rounded out the top five. Find the complete results below.
