Hard to believe, but the 2012 version of the NPC BMR West Coast Classic is but eight weeks away. If you haven’t noticed, this season’s affair will be held at Rosemead High School on Saturday, June 23. Yup, right across the street from an In ‘N Out Burger eatery, for those who are frequent visitors to the popular restaurant.
Despite having surgery on his left biceps at the end of February, Jay Cutler will be returning as the featured guest performer. And, it could be the first time Jay flexes on stage since his operation. Will he be back on the Olympia stage in September to try and regain the Sandow from Phil Health? Perhaps he will make that announcement on stage, eh? Also performing will be the highly entertaining Jerome “Hollywood” Ferguson, who will dazzle the fans with his “Who Let the Dogs Out” routine.
Last year’s contest had a record 175 contestants sign up (233 counting crossovers); this year I’m adding four classes in Men’s Physique (including Teen Physique), and Women’s Physique to the table, so a new record could be in the works. Once again, IRON MAN Magazine is the presenting sponsor, and Publisher John Balik is donating a year’s free subscription to all the class winners.
Michael Pinto will be the official contest photographer for those wishing to buy photos. Go Golden makes its debut as the tanning sponsor, and Michael Bautista fills that role in the posing suits and hair/make-up category. For all the details on the bash, including contact numbers for Pinto, Go Golden and Bautista, log on to www.npcwestcoast.com.
I’m out.
