You never know how your leg training is gonna go on the monday after a contest. My calves were very sore from posing and I was actually a little sore all over my body. On top of that, Don Stricklin came in for a posing session right before my leg workout. I went through 4 rounds of mandatories with Don. Don is looking better every week, by the way.
So, because I had a very busy schedule today I trained legs with my client, Dana Kemp. Dana is preparing to compete in figure at the NPC Lackland Classic in San Antonio in November. Dana is on a mission to get into contest shape in less than a year after giving birth. Having played college basketball at Kansas State, Dana is well aquainted with hard workouts and makes an excellent partner for training legs. My expectations for myself were not that high (given the soreness), but I ended up having one of the best leg workouts I’ve had in months!
Squats 4 sets 8-10 reps, 1 set of 20 reps
Leg press 5 sets of 25 reps
Leg Curls 4 sets 8-12 reps
Leg Ext 4 sets 10-12 reps
Standing calf raise 4 sets 12-15 reps
