As of 9:30 am, there were 156 (90 men, 66 women) competitors registered for the 2011 NPC BMR West Coast Classic, shattering last year’s record of 140. IRON MAN Magazine is the presenting sponsor for the event, set for Saturday, at El Monte High School. There will be an athlete’s meeting at 8 am sharp on Saturday, with check-ins at 8:30 and prejudging scheduled to begin at 11 am. Finals take place at 6 pm.
Jay Cutler will be making his last guest posing appearance before going into lockdown for the Mr. Olympia in September. Cutler will be taking dead aim on his fifth Sandow trophy in front of his hometown fans in Las Vegas in less than three months. Also scheduled to appear are Eli Blahut, last year’s WCC Overall winner, and Asia Monet Ray, the 5-year-old dance wunderkind and daughter of former pro great Shawn Ray.
Those wanting to compete can sign up the morning of the contest, with a late fee. Plenty of tickets are still available, and can be bought at the door, cash only. Prejudging tickets are $25, Finals $35.
Hope to see ya there.
I’m out!
