New research suggests that the barbell might be a better tool for getting ripped than the treadmill. Just a few weeks ago, Harvard University concluded a 12-year study of more than 10,000 men. They found that strength training offered more protection against a growing waist circumference than moderate to vigorous aerobic activity did. Re-searchers pointed out that their findings don’t get you off the hook for doing cardio, but rather that as men age, they need put in a combination of weight-training and cardio in order to keep body fat off of their midsection.
