The bikini division of the NPC Team Universe Championships, which were held with the Fitness Nationals on July 8 and 9 in Teaneck, New Jersey, shined the spotlight on another sensational new face who has never lost a contest. Roya Tehrani blew away the competition in the B-class and overall, taking top honors in a lineup of 125 or so stride ’n’ snappers in the open division, including a few who had come close at the Junior USA or Junior Nationals earlier in the season. It was only the third bikini contest for the Iranian-born, Southern California–bred beauty, who won the overall at the Tournament of Champions in 2009. Now living in Dallas, she came back to earn a tie-breaker overall victory at the ’11 Atlantic States in early June, followed by her Team U takeover. Look for Roya to test her undefeated record in the pro waters before too long.
Joining Tehrani on the pro level will be her fellow class winners—Sara Moylan, Yeshaira Robels, Marisa Lee, Heather Nappi and Lisa Lutz—along with their runners-up, Katie Chunghua, Skye Taylor, Taylor Matheny, Tawna Eubanks, Casey Trailer and Jennifer Rankin.
Also getting in on the bikini pro-nanza was masters-over-35 winner Michelle Hutton.
