Is organic grass-fed beef worth the extra money? Well, consider that nonorganic, grain-fed beef is packed with growth hormone, antibiotics and heavy metals, meaning that it will make you more toxic.
Grass-fed organic beef and wild meats have a greater amount of DHA than fish oil and provide conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA, which is a great cancer fighter and improves insulin sensitivity.
Grass-fed and wild meats also contain less fat than meat from commercial, grain-fed animals. Grain-fed beef has more than double the fat per serving of grass-fed beef, and it is also much lower in omega-3 fats because the animals are deprived of the omega-3s that are found in the chloroplasts of green leaves and grass that make up the diet of grass-fed beef.
So I’d have to say that although grass-fed beef costs more, it’s worth more!
